Tui-NA massage - Was developed primarily for the treatment of traumatic injury, internal disease and pediatric care. Several thousand years of continuous development by countless hand healers of genius have given us an astonishing variety of hand techniques, and a sophisticated understanding of their technical use for the management of the flow of Qi in the body. These techniques have all been classified by their various actions and prescribed according to the traditional Chinese understanding of anatomy and physiology.

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin. Through suction, the skin is drawn into the cup by creating a vacuum in the cup placed on the skin over the targeted area. The vacuum can be created either by the heating and subsequent cooling of the air in the cup, or via a mechanical pump. The cup is usually left in place for somewhere between five and fifteen minutes. It is believed by some to help treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling.
Ba Guan (Chinese for cupping) therapy is also called bamboo tube therapy or “suction tube therapy”, which has a history of 2200 to 2600 years in China.
The mechanism for Ba Guan therapy can be roughly described to the following two points:
1. The suction effect generated by Ba Guan therapy can result in passive congestion of local skin tissue and thus contribute to the promotion of tissue nutrition and circulation so as to advance metabolism. Meanwhile, Ba Guan therapy can stimulate the reflex of nervous system to cerebral cortex, excite it, and further contribute to recovery of a disease.
2. The other explanation is that the poor circulation, which resulted from the obstruction of capillaries in the muscle tissue, may cause aching pain. The blood encompasses oxygen, and the muscles which blood cannot reach will induce the symptoms of aching as well as numbing pain. Ba Guan therapy develops local congestion and augments the circulation to the places where it was poorly perfused and thereby relieves the symptoms of aching and numbing pain.
Therefore a good Tui Na (deep-tissue massage) therapy practitioner integrates cupping into his practice to maximize the healing benefits of deep-tissue massage therapy.

Chinese Herbal Medicine, along with the other components of Chinese medicine, is based on the concepts of Yin and Yang. It aims to understand and treat the many ways in which the fundamental balance and harmony between the two may be undermined and the ways in which a person's Qi or vitality may be depleted or blocked. Clinical strategies are based upon diagnosis of patterns of signs and symptoms that reflect an imbalance.
